COMPANY QUESTIONS

What is Medici?

Medici is a global initiative to bring all the world’s medical professionals onto a single, simple, and mobile platform. We are a HIPAA compliant app that provides a platform for doctors to manage their patients from anywhere.

What is your purpose?

To serve 1 billion people with a mobile healthcare experience that is 10x easier and 50% cheaper.

What makes us unique from other Telehealth companies?

  • Your Personal Doctors: We protect the relationship between doctors and their patients. On Medici, patients can only consult with doctors with whom a previous relationship has been established.
  • Breadth of Care: General Practitioner, Dentist, Veterinarian, etc all on one single app.
  • Text: You don’t have to be “techie” to use Medici! All text conversations between doctors and patients are easy and secure.

PAYMENT QUESTIONS

What payment methods do you accept?

You can pay by credit card or your Health Savings Account.

How can I get a refund?

Contact support@medici.md for any payment questions or concerns.

Do you accept medical insurance?

Currently, no but we are in the process of discussing coverage with insurance companies. This should be available in the near future.

How much does your service cost?

The first text between doctor and patient is free. After that, the cost is $25 for 10 minutes. This is equivalent to a co-pay at a doctor’s office. After patient accepts the payment charge, the 10 minutes will not begin until the doctor has replied to the text.

How can I reset my password?

Click menu bar button → Click on profile pic → Password → Change Password

How do I update or edit my personal info?

In the profile section of the app you can update your personal information such as name, email, contact info etc. To update your health information, click on “Health” in the menu bar.

FEATURE QUESTIONS

E-Prescribe

Doctors can electronically send prescriptions to a pharmacy of your choice through E-Prescribe. Before you begin your first consult all pharmacy information must be completed.

Doctor of the Day

Each day we will feature a recognized doctor who will address a narrow topic, such as Zika, sleep issues, fibromyalgia, supplements, lyme disease, weight loss issues, disease prevention, etc. Patients can text with the Doctor of the Day and ask him/her any questions they may have related to the doctor’s specialty (fees apply).

APPvocate Program

If you invite a doctor to join Medici and they hold two consults through the app, you will be rewarded a $100 credit toward future consultations on Medici. You will be notified of your credit via email once your friend has held his/her second consult.

Free Nurse

A nurse is available 24/7 for any health questions you may have. Texting with a nurse is always free.

History

We keep a running history of all consultations held on the app. At anytime, you can look at all medical consults you’ve had on Medici.

SECURITY QUESTIONS

How will you protect personal and medical information?

Your information is stored safely on our encrypted servers inside encrypted databases. Our mobile only strategy provides several security benefits like fingerprint recognition. We are also well aware of the varying laws around the world.

Are you HIPAA compliant?

Absolutely! Medici works by allowing authorized users access to a “On Demand” platform to send and receive ePHI in a HIPAA compliant manner. The platform has administrative controls to ensure the integrity of the ePHI – both at rest and in transit – with safeguards in place to prevent unauthorized access.

Is my credit card information secure?

All your payments information are securely stored on Stripe, which is the leader for internet payment. We don’t actually store your payment information.

Is there a credentialing process for doctors?

Yes! All doctors requesting access to Medici are validated by our Medici Support team.

CONSULTATION QUESTIONS

What do I do if my doctor is unavailable?

If your doctor is unavailable you will be re-directed to another doctor in his/her practice or clinic. If no doctor in the practice/clinic is available, you will be directed to a Medici doctor. You will not be allowed to add this doctor as your personal doctor, as this is a one time only doctor.

Doctors status is available, but he/she is not responding. What do I do?

Your doctor has 30 minutes to respond to texts from patients. If your doctor has not responded within 30 minutes, you will be directed to another doctor in the practice (if you choose). If your medical question is not a priority, you can choose to wait on your doctor.

Is there a limit on how many texts I can send in one consult?

No, there is never a limit on texts when consulting with your doctor. However, each consult is $25 for 10 minutes of time with your doctor. if you conversation lasts more than 10 minutes you will be charged another $25.

Can my doctor prescribe medication?

Yes, through our system E-Prescribe. Doctors are not allowed to prescribe controlled substances on Medici.

What if I am unhappy with how the consult went?

You are asked to rate your doctor at the end of each consult. This is your time to let us know (and the doctor) how the consultation went. All ratings are anonymous.

Are medical records integrated with the app?

In the future, yes, but there is significant difficulty when trying to do this too soon. Most EHR’s (Electronic Health Records) do not easily integrate.

Can I take a picture of an X-ray or medical document and send it to my doctor?

Absolutely! We encourage you to upload and save all medical information you may have in your profile.

Can I search for a doctor or have a friend refer me to his/her doctor if I do not have one?

We do not provide this feature because most states prefer all doctor / patient relationships to be built in person and not online. In order to add a medical professional to Medici, your first consultation must occur at his / her practice or clinic.
